Naveen Jain to Entrepreneurs: Be Part of the Solution

Gepost in: Biz Opps — @ 10:26 am

The Overlake Service League (OSL) recently distinguished Intelius President and CEO Naveen Jain, as its honorary chair during the organizations’ “Step Up to the Plate” Annual Benefit Luncheon. Jain’s Bellevue-based information commerce company empowers consumers and businesses with predictive information for wiser, more intelligent decisions.

Speaking to a crowd filled with business leaders and the OSL community, he commended the OSL for its consistent and sincere effort of addressing the needs of the community. According to Jain, OSL exemplifies philanthropy that “is not only about giving, but on making an impact”.

As a six-year leader of one of the fastest emerging companies in the region, Naveen Jain’s commitment to philanthropy is nothing new in the business community. He has been a steadfast supporter of not only the OSL, but of over 50 local and national nonprofit organizations that focus on addressing concerns for basic needs, poverty, and self-sufficiency. Since the company’s inception in 2003, Jain and Intelius have contributed over $1 million in financial donations to various charities and had employees contribute valuable community hours voluntarily.

Addressing a point to business leaders, Naveen Jain pointed out that running a business is very similar to a philanthropic activity. According to Jain, “Like in business, whenever there is a need, there is an opportunity.” And the Bellevue community, like other communities, has a problem with poverty among thousands of its residents. There are individuals and families that experience hunger; there are some who seek for shelter, while physically handicapped individuals need care.

In addressing the problems of the community, Naveen Jain tries hard to be “part of the solution” and engages other business leaders to do the same. For his leadership and philanthropy, Intellius was named one of the Top 25 Corporate Philanthropists by the Puget Sound Business Journal and named a Corporate Citizen for the Eastside Business Awards.
