Workplace Violence and Harassment Guide Published
As part of a Europe-wide pact between employers’ organisations, a guide for employers to help them deal with violence and harassment situations at the workplace was released. It gives out details to firms and employers on how to take care of violence and harassment related issues.
The guide is called ‘Preventing Workplace Harassment and Violence’ and its publication has been possible due to the collaboration of the Partnership of Public Employers (PPE), the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and the CBI (Confederation of British Industry). This guide is also supported by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS).
The goal of the guide is to make employers and companies more conscious of the issues of harassment and violence that occurs at the workplace. The guide deals with both internal violence and with issues of third-party violence. It also gives out guidelines on how to identify, avoid or deal with such cases.

Katja Hall, Director of Employment Policy, CBI, added that violent behaviour at the workplace is not correct. She hopes that the recently published guide will be able to help employers deal with such issues and protect the interests of the workers.
All organisations need to make appropriate efforts to protect the well-being of staff, click CIPD courses by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, which impart training to managers to successfully manage appropriate policies and procedures and improve upon management skills to help tackle and reduce the risk of work-related violence.
